What is Sanel?
Better Way cat litter contains
an all-natural patented cat attractant named Sanel. This aromatic
substance is something that only cats can smell. Sanel? reminds
cats of the great outdoors and helps to develop better litter box
habits. In laboratory tests, cats picked litter with Sanel? three
times more often than an identical litter with no attractant.
What is the difference
between traditional and scooping cat litters?
Clay is the main ingredient
in all Better Way litters, however, certain types of clay react
differently when they come in contact with moisture.
Traditional clay litter will
absorb urine, but will NOT form a clump. To maintain a fresh litter
box, solid waste must be removed daily and the box completely changed
each week.
Scoopable litter will clump
the urine into an easy-to-remove ball shape. These clumps, as well
as solid waste, should be removed daily and completely changed once
a month.
How can I best control litter box odor using Better Way?
Better Way will most effectively
absorb liquid and odor when the depth in the litter box is maintained
at a 2-3 inch level. By removing solid waste and urine clumps (if
you are using a scoopable formula) daily, you will help to ensure
a clean and fresh litter box for your home.
I'm having trouble
removing the clumps from my scoopable litter. What could be wrong?
This problem usually occurs
when there is not enough litter in the box. A depth of 2-3 inches
is recommended in order for there to be enough litter to form clumps.
After you have removed urine clumps, make sure that you are refilling
the box to the 2-3 inches of litter so that the original level is
always maintained. Also, Better Way? Scoopable litters will not
clump properly if they are mixed with a non-clumping traditional
form of litter.
If I am pregnant, is it unsafe for me to clean out the litter
box?
Pregnant women and immunosuppressed
persons should know that cat feces can transmit a parasite that
causes a disease called toxoplasmosis. You should avoid cleaning
out the litter box if possible (or use rubber gloves and wash your
hands thoroughly). Unused cat litter poses no threat.
Are all Better Way? formulas flushable?
Better Way Flushable is the
only formula that can be flushed through residential plumbing systems.
However, it should not be flushed through septic systems. Due to
the possibility of clogging pipes, we do not recommend that you
flush any other Better Way? formulas.
Is Better Way cat litter safe for my cats and kittens?
Yes, Better Way cat litter
is made from the purest, nontoxic ingredients and won't cause any
harm to your cat's digestive system. In order to minimize dust in
our litters, we use the highest quality clay available and then
pass it over screens. This removes any excess dust and particles
leaving behind nothing but the cleanest litter possible for you
and your cat.
